Situated in Sonoma County, the California Indian Museum & Cultural Center seeks to support tribal nations through cultural education and preservation. DRAW, in collaboration with Travois, was selected to deliver a new traditional food incubator for the California Indian Museum & Cultural Center. The new traditional food incubator, including a seed library, is intended to serve as an educational hub that provides accessibility to and cultivates preservation of ancestral foods and practices. The design team aims to provide a cultural hub that produces an accessibility to and affordability of traditional foods while strengthening ancestral knowledge of native foods.
